L2TP Installation on Windows 10

Manual L2TP Setup on Windows 10
Setting up L2TP/IPSec with Windows' built-in VPN client instead of the Le VPN app? Follow these steps.

Add a VPN connection
Click the network icon in your taskbar, choose Network Settings, then VPN > Add a VPN connection.

Fill in the connection settings
Set VPN provider to Windows (built-in), pick a connection name, and enter the server address and preshared key below. Set VPN type to L2TP/IPsec with pre-shared key and sign-in info to username/password (your VPN credentials).

Save and connect
Save the connection, then select it from the network icon's VPN list and click Connect.
Once connected, confirm it worked by checking your IP address - it should show the VPN server's location, not your own. If it still shows your real IP, disconnect and reconnect.
Server address and preshared key
L2TP doesn't use configuration files - just a server address and a shared secret.
Use the hostname of the location you want to connect to, e.g. uk.zeropointer.net or fr.zeropointer.net (see the full server list), and set the preshared key to levpnsecret.
