How to Install VPN on Firestick
Amazon Fire TV and Firestick run on a forked version of Android, so the Le VPN Android app installs and works right on your device. Two ways to get it on there - pick whichever is easier.
A note on newer Fire TV devices
Amazon has started shipping newer Fire TV models on Vega OS, a new operating system that doesn't support Android apps like Le VPN the way older Fire OS devices do. If your device runs Vega OS, the steps below won't work. In that case, we recommend using any Android TV box instead (Nvidia Shield, Chromecast with Google TV, or similar) - the Le VPN Android app installs and runs on those normally. If you're not sure which OS your device runs, check Settings > My Fire TV > About.
Install from the Amazon App Store
Deliver the app to your Firestick remotely from your computer or phone - no need to touch the remote until it's done.
2
Log in
Log into the Amazon account that's registered on your Firestick or Fire TV.
3
Open the Le VPN listing
Click the Le VPN icon on the app's page.
4
Deliver it to your device
Click Deliver in the top-right corner. The app installs on your Firestick automatically - no further action needed there.
Install directly on your Fire TV Stick
Prefer to search for the app on the device itself? Follow these steps with your remote.
1
Search for the app
From the home screen, scroll all the way left to the magnifying glass icon, type "Le VPN", and confirm the search.
2
Select it from the results
Find Le VPN in the search results and select it to open its download page.
3
Download
Select the Download button and wait for the install to finish.
4
Open the app
Once the download finishes, select Open to launch Le VPN.
6
Pick a server
Once logged in, select the server location you want to connect to. For the best speed, choose Wireguard or Stealth Wireguard as the protocol if the app gives you a choice - it's faster than OpenVPN and works well even on restrictive networks.
7
Connect
Click the app's main connect button (the big circle). Confirm with OK when prompted - you're now connected.
Once connected, you can confirm it worked by checking your IP address on another device on the same network - it should show the VPN server's location, not your own.
Uninstalling Le VPN
1
Open Applications settings
Go to Settings > Applications.
2
Manage installed applications
Select Manage Installed Applications and find Le VPN in the list.
3
Uninstall
Select Uninstall and confirm.
