Who we are
Le VPN was founded in Paris, France in November 2010 by a team of internet freedom and cybersecurity enthusiasts, excited to bring everyone a solution for personal security and privacy.
The founding team joined their forces, knowledge, and expertise in cybersecurity (learned at Centrale Supelec engineering school) and business (learned at INSEAD business school), and built a like-minded and diverse team from all other the world (we speak 5 languages!).
We’ve come a long way in 15 years, but our values stay unchanged. We try our best to live our values every day on our own small scale and also contributing to causes on a global scale.
We’re small and agile by design, and it is our strength! We don’t have investors tell us what to do or compromise in order to hit targets. We are free to do business according to our own values and principles, or simply by Our Own Rules!

During times of political upheaval, we provided free accounts to users in Ukraine and Belarus, ensuring they could communicate freely and access critical information. We played an active role in the Digital Resistance movement in Russia from its inception in 2018 through its victory in 2020. We're proud supporters of Reporters Without Borders and the Open Rights Group, organizations that champion freedom of expression and digital rights globally.

We keep our word, lay out clear rules in our Terms of Service, honor contractual agreements with all partners and affiliates, and treat our users and team members like family. In an industry plagued by deceptive practices, we've chosen integrity as our competitive advantage.
Making a Difference Beyond Digital
Our commitment to being a force for good extends into the physical world. We participated in the Folding@Home campaign to support COVID-19 research when the world needed it most. Since January 2019, we've sponsored BlinkNow in Nepal, funding education for orphans and children from poor families, and provided emergency food supplies during the pandemic.
