For its 10th anniversary, The Pirate Bay, torrent most contested p2p site offered a new web browser meant to bypass censorship in some countries. The download PirateBrowser page refers to countries such as Iran, the United Kingdom, Belgium and Italy. According to TorrentFreak site, PirateBrowser has already been downloaded over 1 million times, since its launch in August 2013. This means that only 0.5 % of the Pirate Bay visitors would thus use this solution. Most of these visits come from countries where the site is blocked by the ISP.

PirateBrowser is also meant to bypass media, as per its motto: “PirateBrowser – No more censorship!” But PirateBrowser does not guarantee the user’s anonymity.
The Pirate Bay team also prepares an update of its PC version, as well as PirateBrowser’s Linux and Mac versions.
