Hackers steal $5million from airline by withdrawing the money through an electronic transfer, but it is still not known who is behind the attack. The Irish Times have reported that Ryanair regularly purchases fuel with dollars and the attack could have happened during this process.
Since the attack had been noticed, Ryanair has had their accounts frozen to hope another attack doesn’t occur. The airline have bought onboard various banks and authorities, including Criminal Assets Bureau in Dublin, in attempting to repair the damage done. This comes after the low-cost European airline has been trying hard to shed its poor reputation in regards to how they treat their customers.
