Why We Started Over
Since 2010, when Le VPN was born on the benches of École Centrale Paris, we’ve been committed to one mission: giving people the tools to take back their online freedom. Stealth WireGuard Protocol
This is the headline feature, and for good reason. Standard WireGuard is already one of the fastest and most secure VPN protocols available, built on modern cryptographic primitives like Curve25519, ChaCha20, and Poly1305. But in countries with aggressive censorship, raw WireGuard traffic can be identified and blocked through deep packet inspection.
Our Stealth WireGuard protocol solves this. It wraps your VPN traffic in a layer of obfuscation that makes it virtually indistinguishable from regular internet traffic, piercing through even the most aggressive censorship firewalls. Whether you’re in a country that blocks VPNs outright or on a restrictive corporate or university network, Stealth WireGuard is designed to get you through.
Kill Switch & Always-On Protection — At the Protocol Level
In the old generation of VPN apps, the kill switch was an add-on — an extra layer sitting on top of the connection. In our new app, it’s integrated directly at the protocol level. That means there’s no gap, no split-second window where your real IP could leak if the connection drops. Your traffic is either going through the encrypted tunnel, or it’s going nowhere. Period.
Block Online Threats
The new app ships with a built-in threat protection feature powered by DNS-level filtering. Think of it as a security layer that works alongside your VPN connection to block access to known malicious domains, phishing sites, and other online threats before they ever reach your device. We obsessed over performance. The new app is noticeably lighter on system resources and connects faster than its predecessor. The system tray icon gives you a real-time visual indicator of your connection state, and with quick-connect and recent server access right from the tray, getting protected takes just a click or two.
Allow Local Connections
Need to access your printer, NAS, or other devices on your local network while connected to the VPN? The new app includes an option to allow local network connections, so you don’t have to choose between convenience and security.
What About the Previous App?
The legacy Le VPN app (v1.x) is still available and still works. But we strongly recommend making the switch to v2. The new app represents the future of Le VPN on Windows — and it’s where all new features and improvements will land.
